Sunil Choudhary is new President of JNVU Jodhpur

Sunil Choudhary is New president of Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur. The results of the student union elections 2018 came out on Tuesday whereas results in JNVU Jodhpur were declared around 2:30 am on Wednesday in which NSUI bagged the top post. In a close fight NSUI candidate Sunil Choudhary defeated ABVP candidate Mool Singh. The delay happened due to recounting of votes. In Rajasthan University, NSUI rebel Vinod Jakhar elected president. This is for the third time in a row when an independent candidate has won the post. NSUI marked its victory in JNVU Jodhpur, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology of Udaipur and in Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University of Alwar.
ABVP’s Singh, who was leading in the first three rounds started lagging in the counting and by the fifth round, NSUI’s Choudhary took a dramatic lead making it to victory by 39 votes. Following the objections of Mool Singh, the chief election officer went for re-counting and finally Choudhary was declared winner by a meager margin of 9 votes. But this decision delayed the results, which could finally be announced at 2.00am, after which the supporters of Choudhary erupted into cheer and busted crackers. With this result, the NSUI has succeeded in retaining the president post of the JNVU student union. But in last election, NSUI had swept all the four posts.
